EXSIF Announces Leadership Transition

CHICAGO—EXSIF (the “Company”), a global leader in tank container leasing and services and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Marmon Holdings, Inc. (“Marmon”), today announced a transition of leadership. Neil Finn, who has served as President of EXSIF since 2021, will immediately begin the transition of the EXSIF President role to William (Bill) Merrill.
“Bill is an accomplished senior executive with a successful record of building winning teams and leading businesses to improved financial results,” Neil Finn said. “He has spent the past eight years in a variety of leadership roles within the Marmon organization. In his most recent role, Bill led a team of over 3,500 employees and developed strategies to help Marmon Rail maintain its position as North America’s leading tank car manufacturer and railcar repair provider.”
Bill Merrill stated, “I am honored to join EXSIF as President during this important time in the Company’s evolution. EXSIF is a proven market leader with a clear strategy and an experienced leadership team. Upon completion of the EXSIF leadership transition, Neil will remain with Marmon in an expanded Rail Group leadership role.
About William Merrill
Bill Merrill most recently served as Group President of Marmon’s Rail Manufacturing and Shop Repair businesses from April 2022 through May 2024 and President of Marmon Rail’s North American Repair Services business from November 2018 through April 2022. Prior to his roles in the Marmon Rail organization, Bill served as Group President, Supply and Support for the Marmon Energy Services Engineered Wire & Cable Division from November 2017 through November 2018. He joined Marmon as Vice President, New Ventures for Marmon’s Energy Services Company and served in this role from May 2016 through October 2017. Prior to joining Marmon, Bill held various senior leadership and management roles with Fortune Brands, Lista International, Stanely Black & Decker, and Otis Elevator Company. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering with a certificate in Marketing from the University of Rochester and a Master of Business Administration degree from Villanova University.
